Hi, I'm an Artist, Writer, Musician, Coder, Future Webcomic Artist, and Creator who goes by the pen name Mitsuki Youko.

My student animation/film "Boy Who Fell From the Stars" was featured in De Anza College's 39th Annual Student Film and Video Show as well as ASIFA-SF's Spring Showcase in 2018 and my art was also featured in De Anza's Student Magazine (Red Wheelbarrow) in 2017.

I graduated from De Anza College (Magna Cum Laude) in 2019 with a double major (AA in both Animation and Enterprise Security.)

I've always loved creating, no matter the medium but since I discovered anime in 7th grade, my passion has always been creating cool characters and writing the stories that revolve around them.

It is my dream to create an epic story through my animations, music, and future comic that evokes the "feelz" that I feel when I watch a really really good anime.

Through my ongoing personal project H@<K Webcomic (the comic I will be drawing in the future, but am still meticulously plotbuilding), I want to take my audience on a journey that will keep them at the edge of their seats, make them laugh, cry, make their hearts soar, make the butterflies in their stomachs flutter, and most of all, make them experience the magic that is my handcrafted worlds as well as my characters, and their stories.

Aside from being an artist and creator, I also have many other creative and technical skills such as Video Editing, Music Prod, Sound Design, Coding, Technical Writing, Data Analytics (Power BI), Instructional Design, and Ethical Hacking.

Sinister Dragon Productions

Sinister Dragon Productions is the "Studio" that I create my animations under.

The name was created in the summer of 2015, when I was taking a summer art class at my high school and we were making stencils and I created a mediocre looking "dragon". At the time, I tried drawing in different styles and had a style where everything had choppy curves for an edgy look. I dubbed that look the "sinister" look for how it looked like it could be from a "kind of dark but at the same time lighthearted whimsical fantasy".

"Sinister" Style + Dragon = Sinister Dragon Productions

I have since then redesigned the logo to make the dragon look a lot more aesthetically pleasing and in a variety of colors that I can choose from for each project.

Lightning Jam

Lightning Jam is the "Studio" that I produce my music under.
I started making music around May/June of 2022 and started making my own sounds mid-June of 2023.

Click "Read More" if you'd like to learn about how Lightning Jam was created. Sometime around 2014-2015-ish, I tried to start making music. It wasn't very good at the time but I'd decided that my "label" was going to be called Lightning Jam. I even made a facebook page for it. After a little, I gave up trying to learn music making and deleted my facebook page cuz I felt it was hard and I wasn't able to create what I wanted to create. In 2017, I took a Intro to Electronic Music class that revitalized my interest in music making. At the time, I'd started creating the very early stages of my plotbuilding for H@くK, (my ongoing personal project) and decided that I wanted to make fully animated trailers for my future webcomic and that I wanted to make my own music for the trailers. While the Intro to Electronic Music class taught me how to use a DAW, it didnt teach me much else. So I focused more on my art and put the music making idea for the time being. As I plotbuilt my story more and started to seriously visualize how my trailers would look, I was once again, thinking about making my own music and teeter-tottered between the thought of learning to make my own music or just using music from the youtube audio library for my trailers and ended up deciding to use my own music. So around June of 2022, I tried my hand at making music again, learning by watching many youtube videos. Then.. I made a breakthrough and was able to create beats that sounded "listen-able" and I got excited and I practiced making a beat a day every day for about 6 months. I also bought the "Better Beatmaker" course, which then drastically improved the way I made music and I was able to make full songs.

The redesigned Lightning Jam logo looks like this:

Now that I'm getting better at both making animations, compositing, and music making, if I animate something and use my own music in it, I'd use the combined logo of Sinister Dragon Productions x Lightning Jam.

I used it for the first time in my first music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-J7spsviGY
